Anti Corruption Commission Chairman Iqbal Mahmood has called on the people and institutions of the country to set aside their ego in order to take the country forward.
“People must be able to admit their shortcomings,” he said on Tuesday (Mar 26) during a discussion meeting for Independence Day.
He said that being self-centred is the biggest problem in the country and if the institutions cannot shun the “I’m better than everyone” attitude, the country won’t move forward.
Citing the children’s textbooks such as ‘Amar [my] Boi,’ the ACC chief said that instead of using words from the ‘me’ family, using ‘us’ would have been a better call.
Mahmood called on everyone to join hands with honesty and sincerity to build a corruption and discrimination-free Bangladesh.
