The Dhaka North City Corporation (DNCC) mayor Md Atiqul Islam has said the City Corporation has taken initiative to ensure the safety of all citizens across Dhaka city.

His remarks came on Thursday (Mar 14), at a day-long workshop held at the Lakeshore Hotel in the capital.

“We have taken initiatives for various projects to ensure safety in Dhaka,” he said while addressing the program which was jointly organized by the World Bank, the Japan International Cooperation Agency, Seeds, and DNCC.

“I will work towards removing all irregularities and corruption from the city,” the Dhaka north mayor said.

He said he wants to make the city look beautiful as well.

Atiqul also urged all the CEOs of government and non-government organizations to hold regular disaster management workshops for employees to help equip them better to handle such scenarios.
