Hazrat Shahjalal International AirportThe High Court has questioned the negligence by Dhaka’s Hazrat Shajalal International Airport authorities on curbing mosquito menace.
Upon a writ petition, the bench of justices KM Kamrul Kader and FRM Nazmul Ahasan on Tuesday (Mar 12) directed the government to explain why the airport authorities’ inactivity to kill mosquito should not be declared illegal.
The HC also asked why immediate steps should not be taken on the matter.
The civil aviation and tourism secretary, civil aviation authority chairman, Dhaka north city corporation mayor and airport’s ward commissioner have been asked to respond to the rule within four weeks.

On Mar 3, lawyer Tanvir Ahmed filed the petition seeking court directive after a legal notice severed to the people concerned on killing mosquito at the airport area went unanswered.
