A robbery suspect, with gunshot wounds, has escaped from a city hospital under the nose of the police.
Forty-five-year-old Idris Molla was found missing from Dhaka Medical College Hospital (DMCH) at around 6:30pm Tuesday (Mar 5), said In-Charge of the hospital's police outpost Inspector Md Bachchu Mia.
Idris was admitted at Ward No 102 in the hospital’s casualty department. Two policemen and an Ansar and VDP member were guarding the robbery suspect, he added.
Bachchu said police were looking for him.
Idris, who hails from Shariatpur’s Zazira Upazila, was shot during a robbery attempt and arrested in Munshiganj’s Tongibari on Feb 2.
Later, he was admitted to DMCH, where he also underwent surgery.
