Newly elected Dhaka North Mayor Atiqul Islam has unveiled his goals during his one year in office to make the city “beautiful and enlightened.”
“I have divided my goals for the next one year in office into three parts. Short-term, medium-term and long term,” he said on Saturday (Mar 2) at Uttara during his first media call as mayor
Responding to queries about his future plans, he said, “I pledged to start working immediately after I take office.”
He added that he will do everything necessary to make Dhaka North green and modern.
Atiqul’s plans for the next one year are:
Transform Dhaka North into an enlightened city
Prevent environment pollution
Make sure the Nagar app is operational
Digitalise and automate all kinds of transactions and taxes
Planting trees and encouraging city agriculture
Make open playgrounds in all the areas
Return the footpaths to the citizens
Bring back order in the transport and safety sector
Development projects in the newly added wards
Ensure that deceased mayor Annisul Huq’s plans are implemented
