A female leader of BNP’s student wing has moved the High Court seeking the upcoming DUCSU polls to be deferred after she found her name excluded from the voter list.
Jatiyatabadi Chhatra Dal Female Student Affairs Secretary Fahmida Majid filed the writ with the High Court on Sunday (Feb 24)
Fahmida’s counsel Ruhul Kuddus Kajal, who lodged the petition on her behalf told the media, “The writ was filed as her name was excluded from the voter list.”
The petition also sought a rule from the High Court asking why the polls schedule announcement won’t be declared illegal since it was done with the plaintiff’s name missing from the voter list.
The High Court bench of Justice Syed Refat Ahmed and Justice Md Iqbal Kabir is scheduled to hear the petition on Monday (Feb 24).
The much-awaited DUCSU polls, which have not taken place in the last 29 years, is slated for Mar 11.
