A ‘drug smuggler’ has been killed in a 'shootout' in Dhaka, says Rapid Action Battalion (RAB).
The shootout took place when the elite force conducted an anti-drug raid at the city’s Shyamoli area at around 6am on Wednesday (Feb 20), said RAB media wing director Mahmood Khan.
The deceased have been identified as Mehedi, 32, who was accused in 17 cases.
Two RAB members also sustained injuries during the shootout.
RAB also seized a revolver and a large amount of heroin during the raid, said Mahmood Khan.
