Heavy rainfall on Sunday (Feb 17) morning has left thousands of books damaged at the Ekushey book fair.
Book stall owners found many books lying in puddles of water following the sporadic rainfall.
On Sunday morning Dhaka dwellers witnessed around 20mm rain, according to the Bangladesh Meteorological Department (BMD)
Meanwhile the BMD has predicted more rain or thundershowers accompanied by temporary gusty wind at some places over the country until 9 am Monday (Feb 18).
“Rain or thundershowers accompanied by temporary gusty wind is likely to occur at a few places over Dhaka, Chattogram and Sylhet divisions and at one or two places over Rangpur, Rajshahi, Khulna, Barishal and Mymensingh divisions,” a BMD press release issued on Sunday (Feb 17) morning reads.
