Ruling Awami League (AL) leaders in Europe have taken massive preparations ahead of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina’s Germany visit, scheduled on Feb 14.

Leaders of Awami League units in the European countries including Germany and Britain have already held a preparation meeting.

The February visit to Germany will be Hasina’s first overseas trip after taking oath as the prime minister for the record fourth time.

The prime minister will be visiting Germany to attend the Munich Security Conference 2019, to be held at Munich.

Bangladeshi expats living across Europe are eagerly waiting for the visit when the prime minister will be accorded a reception by the German Awami League.

President of the German AL unit, Bashirul Alam Sabu and General Secretary Sheikh Badal Ahmed said that a meeting between the prime minister and German Chancellor Angela Merkel is likely in the sidelines of the conference.

“Awami League leaders from various Europe countries will go to Munich to attend the reception for the prime minister, UK Awami League unit President Sultan Mahmud Sharif told Bangla Tribune on Saturday (Feb 2).
