Despite several measures taken by the education ministry to stop leak, question papers surfaced on the social media just an hour after students sat for the Bangla paper I test of the Secondary School Certificate (SSC) exams on Saturday (Feb 2)
The three-hour test of began at 10am and around 11.20am pictures of the question were shared on Facebook and WhatsApp.
The leaked multiple choice question (MCQ) section turned out to be incorrect but the written question paper was an exact match of the test taken by students on Saturday.
A Facebook user named Shishir Ahmed and WhatsApp chat group styled ‘SSC MISSION 2019’ shared pictures of the question paper and used it as the advertisement for leaked question papers.
Bangla Tribune reached the Dhaka Education Board Chairman Ziaul Haque, who said that there were no options of a question paper to be found outside the centres during the tests.
He, however, said, “What might have happened is a student may have left after finishing the test within an hour, which he or she gave out. But if the questions are uploaded on the internet, we will instruct teachers to not allow students who finish early to the leave with the question paper.”

The SSC and equivalent examinations started simultaneously in 4,964 centres on Saturday.
A total of over 2.5 million students have registered for the exams this year.
Meanwhile, the government has warned of stern actions against any attempt to leak question papers.
Speaking to the media after visiting the exam centre at Bangamata Sheikh Fazilatunnesa Mujib Government Secondary School in Dhaka's Ashkona area, Education Minister Dipu Moni said they were on “high alert”.
“We all want the examination to be held in an atmosphere that is free of question paper leak and forgery. I call upon everyone to work towards holding the examinations in a free and fair manner,” she said.
In its bid to plug question leak, the government has taken several measures, including making it mandatory for the student to enter exam centres at least 30 minutes before the start of the test, setting the question 25 minutes prior to the test.
No one aside from the secretaries appointed at the examination centres is allowed to use a mobile phone. The secretary can only use phones that do not have a camera or internet features.
