Angelina Jolie to visit Rohingyas in Bangladesh

She will be visiting Cox’s Bazar as a special envoy of UNHCR.
“If everything goes right, she will be in Dhaka by the first half of February,” said a source seeking anonymity.

According to a foreign ministry press release issued in November 2017, in the UN Peacekeeping Ministerial, Jolie shared her strong views on the Rohingya victims of sexual violence.
Earlier Lt Gen Mahfuzur Rahman, Principal Staff Officer, Armed Forces Division of Bangladesh in a closed meeting on Sexual Exploitation and Abuse urged Angelina Jolie’s support to voice against the sexual exploitation of Rohingya women and children. “In response, she shared with Bangladesh Delegation that she is planning to see the Rohingya victims of sexual violence and she would mention this in her key note speech in the Ministerial. She deeply applauded Bangladesh’s generous humanitarian approach.”
