Customs authorities at the Dhaka airport have seized gold bars weighing over 9 kg from an aircraft of the Biman Bangladesh Airlines.
The gold was concealed under a passenger seat of the plane, which arrived from Malaysia Thursday morning, customs Deputy Commissioner Othello Chowdhury told Bangla Tribune.
No one has been detained over the haul, said the official.
Flight BG 87 from Kuala Lumpur landed Dhaka at 6am. The customs conducted a search on a tip-off.
“Eighty gold bars were found concealed under a seat of the plane,” said Deputy Commissioner Fahmida Mahzabin.
