Two Appellate Division benches formed

Chief Justice Syed Mahmud Hossain in an administrative order on Thursday (Jan 3) has formed two appeals benches.
A statement by the Appellate Division registrar said that the first bench led by the chief justice will consist of justices Hasan Foez Siddique, Zinat Ara and Md. Nuruzzaman.
The second bench will be led by Justice Justice Muhammad Imman Ali. The other members are justices Mirza Hussain Haider and Abu Bakar Siddiquee.
The two appeals benches will convene from Sunday (Jan 6), said Supreme Court’s Special Officer Saifur Rahman. He said that the chief justice’s move came to address the backlog of matters pending with the Appellate Division.
