A writ was lodged at the high court asking army supervision in vote taking, counting and result declaration. The writ was moved by supreme-court lawyer and Dhaka -8 candidate under plough, Dr Eunus Ali Akond.

The writ mentions CEC, AL’s general secretary, BNP secretary general, Rashed Khan Menon, Mirza Abbas, home secretary and others as defendants.

The writ will be placed before a joint bench of justices, JBM Hassan and Khairul Alam on Monday, Dec 24.

In addition to asking for a greater role of the army, the writ asks an injunction banning the usage of one party’s symbol by another party plus police security for the person who lodged the writ.
