High Court has ordered the settlement of a writ which challenges the legality of allowing 25 Jamaat-e-Islami leaders to contest in the upcoming polls.
The order came on Tuesday (Dec 18), from a joint bench comprising justices Md Ashfakul Islam and Mohammad Ali.
Barrister Tania Ameer took part in the hearing is support of the writ.
In the writ, Election Commission, Chief Election Commissioner, Jamaat-e-Islami’s central ameer and the 25 candidates were made defendants.
