BSS Managing Editor Shahriar Shahid diesJournalist Shahriar Shahid, who served as managing editor of Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha (BSS), has passed away at the age of 55, said a press release.
Shahriar breathed his last at the city’s Apollo Hospitals at 1:50pm on Saturday (Nov 17).
Shahriar, son of the former editor of now-defunct Bangladesh Times AKM Shahidul Haque, was admitted to the hospital on Nov 14 following a heart attack.
He is survived by his wife, a son and a host of relatives and well-wishers to mourn his death.
His body will be kept at the mortuary of Apollo Hospitals till on Monday (Nov 19). The burial will take place after the arrival of his two sisters from Canada.
His first namaj-i-janaja will be held after Zohr prayer on Monday at National Press Club and second janaja after Magreb prayer at Gorashal, Narsingdi prior to the burial at family graveyard there.
