PEC, equivalent exams to start on Nov 18The Primary Education Certificate (PEC) and Ibtaidayi Education Certificate exams will begin throughout the country on Sunday (Nov 18).
More than 2 million primary school students and over 300,000 Ibtaidayi students will sit for the exams which are slated to end on Nov 26.
Primary and Mass Education Minister Mostafizur Rahman Fizar told the media on Thursday (Nov 15) that the MCQ (multiple choice question) part has been omitted from the examinations this year.
He confirmed that over 3,000 special needs students will be sitting for the examinations and the exams will be held in 7,410 centers.
“All coaching centers will be closed off during the tests. The law enforcers will take necessary steps to ensure it,” the minister said.
He added that the national polls will not affect the result publication day and the distribution of books.
“A vigilance team has been formed like every year to supervise the exams and law enforcers have been instructed to ensure that no laws are broken during the tests,” the minister said.
