The High Court will pass its order on Thursday (Nov 15) on a writ petition filed by jailed BNP chief Khaleda Zia challenging the legality of the government's decision to take her back to jail from Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib Medical University (BSMMU).
The HC bench of justices Sheikh Hassan Arif and Razik-Al-Jalil fixed the date on Sunday after concluding the hearing on the petition.
AJ Mohammad Ali moved to the court on Khaleda’s behalf while Additional Attorney General Murad Reza was the State’s counsel.
On Sunday (Nov 11), Khaleda’s counsel submitted the petition seeking the HC order on the government to send her to a specialised hospital for treatment.
The petition stated that the government has taken her back to jail without completing her treatment at BSMMU, which is a violation of her fundamental rights.
Khaleda Zia, who was admitted to BSMMU as per an earlier HC directive, was taken back to jail on Nov 8.
