Six arrested for leaking DU admission test question

Police have arrested six people on charges of leaking questions of Dhaka University ‘D’ unit admission test, who have been prosecuted in a case under the Digital Security Act.

The arrests were made late on Saturday from the campus, the university’s Proctor AKM Golam Rabbani told Bangla Tribune on Sunday.

He said they were arrested from near the Doel Chattar by a unit of the Criminal Investigation Department (CID).

The six arrested are Jahidul Islam, 45, Insaan Ali Rocky, 19, Mostakim Hossain, 20, Sadman Salid, 21, Tanvir Ahmed, 21, and Abu Taleb, 19. All of them hail from the northern district of Bogura.

DU Chief Security Officer Kamrul Hasan started a case under the Digital Security Act the same day with the Shahbagh police.

According to case details, the mobile phones and digital devices confiscated from them contained messages send through apps like, Viber, Imo, Facebook Messenger, WhatsApp used for disseminating questions of the admission test.

Shahbagh police OC Abul Hasan could not reached over phone for a comment despite several attempts.
