Appellate Division gets three new judges

High Court division’s justices Zinat Ara, Abu Bakar Siddiquee and Md. Nuruzzaman have been appointed to the top court’s appeals bench.
They will be sworn in by Chief Justice Syed Mahmud Hossain on Tuesday, said Supreme Court’s Special Officer Md Saifur Rahman.
The oath-taking ceremony will be held at 10:30am at the Supreme Court’s judges’ lounge, he told the media on Monday.
The new appointments take the number of judges for the Appellate Division to eight.
Apart from the chief justice, the Appellate Division now has three judges — justices Muhammad Imman Ali, Hasan Foez Siddique and Mirza Hussain Haider.
