One hundred and forty-four migrant workers have returned from Saudi Arabia on Wednesday with more to follow in the coming days according to the returnees.
The returnees alleged that the Saudi authorities are sending back migrants arbitrarily.
“The Saudi government is sending back whomever they feel like,” Mahmud, one of them, told Bangla Tribune.
“Many are being jailed even though they had proper paperwork,” he alleged.
According to Mahmud more migrants will be returning on Thursday.
Bureau of Manpower Employment and Training (BMET) official Mahbubur Rahman Ansari told Bangla Tribune, “We suggested them to file their complaint through district manpower offices.”
“In that way, they will get assistance in securing compensation,” he added.
