On Monday, counsels for Ziaul Islam Munna and Monirul Islam Khan filed the pleas with the court of Dhaka Special Judge-5 Md Akhtaruzzaman.
The pleas state that in fear of not getting justice, a request will also be made to the High Court to change the judge.
The petition also sought the hearing to be suspended for the next 20 working days.
After hearing the statements from the lawyers, the judge fixed Tuesday to give his decision on the matter.
“Placing a request citing lack of confidence in the judge is a legal clause and since my client has expressed doubt, the petition was filed,” Defendant Munna’s lawyer Aminul Islam said.
He said the court revoked his client’s bail after the motion was moved.
Meanwhile, BNP chief Khaleda Zia’s counsel pleaded to the court for an order to move her to a specialized hospital from the prison.
The prosecution objected when the judge ordered her treatment in line with the jail code.
A three-time prime minister, Khaleda is now serving a five-year term after she was convicted in the Zia Orphanage Trust graft case.
She has been kept at the old central jail in Dhaka since Feb 8, when the same court found her guilty of embezzling foreign donations made to the orphanage.
