National Security Intelligence (NSI) officials have detained a man at Shahjalal International Airport for illegal possession of 13 kilos of gold.

Acting on a tip off, NSI officials caught Khwaja Shahdat Hossain with the gold on Saturday (Sept 15).

Shahdat Hossain was a passenger on Regent Airways who traveled to Dhaka from Singapore.

He has been handed over to the police and it is under process to hand over the seized gold to customs authority, said an NSI official.
