Quota reformist students reject the advert for 40th BCS without notice about promised reforms.
On Wednesday, Sep 12 afternoon, they brought out a protest rally and made this comment.
Six months ago, the prime minister declared the cancellation of the quota system, but after such a long time, that decision has not be implemented, said the indignant students, adding: instead, false cases have been lodged against us.”
They also called on the government to withdraw all cases against students.
Joint convener of the Bangladesh Student Rights Council, Rashed Khan, said: “We want the department of public administration to accept the demands of the students in reforming the system.”
We did not want the revocation of the quota; it was the PM’s decision but if reform is to be carried out then it has to follow the five steps we articulated, he added.
“Our movement will not lose steam until the demands are met.”
On Wednesday, the students brought out a protest rally, held a press conference and submitted three demands: withdraw fabricated cases against students, punish those who assaulted students and reform the quota system in light of the five points made earlier.
