The Newspaper Wage Board has announced its decision to award 45 percent dearness allowance (DA) for journalists, employees and workers of newspapers and news agencies, an information ministry communique' said here today.
It said the ninth Wage Board reached the decision in the third meeting on March 21 awarding the DA with effect from March 1, 2018, while its chairman Justice Md Nizamul Haq presided over the meeting.
In a letter, the Wage Board asked the Information Ministry to take necessary action to implement the decision to award the DA against their basic salary.
