Robber make off with Tk 2.3m from bank in Dhaka

A robbery was reported from Premier Bank’s Badda Branch in the capital, where a person allegedly robbed Tk 2.3 million by keeping the manager on gun-point.

The incident took place around 4pm on Monday, sources say.

Dhaka Metropolitan Police’s Badda zone Senior Assistant Commissioner Md. Ashraful Karim told Bangla Tribune, “Premier Bank’s authorities claimed that a person robbed Tk 2.3m from the cash counter of their Badda Link Road branch. We are looking into the matter.”

He also said, “They are claiming, a single man was involved. We have collected CCTV footages and going through them.”

“The staff are yet to be questioned and no cases have been filed over the incident,” he added.

A Premier Bank official told Bangla Tribune, “We are preparing to start a case.”
