‘Bangladesh lauded by WHO, UN over tackling virus’

The State Minister for Health and Family Welfare Zahid MalekThe World Health Organization (WHO) and United Nations (UN) have “praised” Bangladesh for its measures to fight the fast-spreading COVID-19 or novel coronavirus, says Health Minister Zahid Maleque.
“WHO and UN have lauded our efforts. We want no one deprived of medical care,” he told an online media call of Institute of Epidemiology, Disease Control and Research (IEDCR) on Monday (Mar 30).
As many as 11 test laboratories are operating across the country, he said before adding “Seventeen more will soon start operations.”
“We have distributed personal protective equipment (PPE) and moved for more distribution. This is a continuous process,” he said.
“The PPE users must remain alert to use and maintain them properly,” he added.
