As many of 364 Bhutanese and Malaysian nationals have left Dhaka as the government imposed 10-day public holiday instructing people to stay home to control the spread of coronavirus in the country, Civil Aviation Authority sources said.
Those foreigners who left Dhaka were mostly the mission staff and students.
A Malaysian Airlines flight, carrying 225 Malaysian nationals, left the Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport on Wednesday (Mar 25) night.
On the other, two special flights of Druk Airlines, carrying 139 Bhutanese citizens, left the city on Thursday (Mar 26) morning.
More than three billion people around the world were living under lockdown on Wednesday as governments stepped up their efforts against the coronavirus pandemic which has left more than 21,000 people dead and infected over 450,000 in 182 countries and territories.
