A British national of Bangladesh origin has died at a hospital in Manchester in the United Kingdom, reports BBC Bangla.
The sexagenerian man was confirmed to have been infected with coronavirus five days earlier at the hospital and became the third person in the UK on Sunday to die of the disease.
The deceased also returned to the UK on February 29 after a vacation in Italy, the country with the highest number of deaths from coronavirus outside China.
“My father was 60-years old and was already suffering from different health complications, such as cholesterol, arthritis, cardiac issues, asthma and breathing problems, but he was quite well after he came back home,” the son of the deceased told BBC Bangla.
Till now, the global death toll from the new coronavirus passed 4,000 on Tuesday with as China reported 17 new deaths.
The toll reached 4,011 in the outbreak that has spread to over 100 countries with more than 110,000 cases of infection.
On Sunday, Bangladesh confirmed three coronavirus cases for the first time.
Since last month, a number of Bangladeshi nationals were also found infected with the virus in several other countries.
