The government has suspended visa on arrival for the nationals of South Korea, Japan, Iran and Italy, says Institute of Epidemiology Disease Control and Research (IEDCR).
“As per the decision, the nationals of the four countries have to issue visa before travelling Bangladesh,” IEDCR Director Meerjadi Sabrina Flora said at the regular media call over coronavirus on Wednesday (Mar 4).
“World Health Organization (WHO) has marked these four countries as hotspot [of the virus]. The number of patients is rising continuously in the countries. To stay alert, travelling to Bangladesh has been restricted more for the foreigners,” she said.
“The nationals of the countries have to file a conoravirus-negative certificate or quarantine documents,” Flora said before urging people to avoid travel abroad, asking all migrant workers in the countries with the coronavirus to avoid non-essential trips.
