Awami League (AL) chief Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina along with the leaders of the party’s newly-elected central working committee and advisory council reached Gopalganj’s Tungipara around 11 am on Friday (Jan 24).
They are set to pay tributes to Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman by placing wreaths at his mausoleum in Tungipara.
Central and local party leaders have warmly received Hasina, after she landed on Tungipara Upazila Complex helipad.
After paying tribute, the members of the working committee and advisory council will join a prayer session seeking eternal peace of the departed soul of the Father of the Nation.
A meeting of the committee members and advisors is set to be held afterwards as per the tradition.
