Chief Election Commissioner (CEC) KM Nurul Huda has called on the law enforcers to prevent irregularities in the polls.

“Any kind of complaints of irregularities shouldn’t reach the Election Commission. Resolve them on the spot,” he said during a security-related meeting at Dhaka’s Agargaon on Wednesday (Jan 22).

 “I hope those of you who will be working on the field will immediately resolve it and advice the employees,” he said and called on them to carry out their duties in line with the law.

“We can create a favourable condition for the voters to go to the polling centres only if we remain firm on our positions,” he said.

Huda said that they want the voters to be able to cast their franchises and the candidates and their polling agents to carry out their duties smoothly.
