State mourning on Sunday for Oman ruler's death

“National flag will be hoisted at half mast by all government, private and educational institutions including Bangladesh Embassies abroad and special prayers to be offered at all mosques tomorrow seeking eternal peace of the departed soul of Omani Sultan,” Prime Minister’s Assistant Press Secretary ABM Sarwer e Alom Sarker told BSS on Sunday.
Prayers will also be offered at other places of worship seeking salvation of the departed soul of Sultan Qaboos.
The Director General (Administration) of foreign ministry has already sent letters to all Bangladesh missions abroad requesting to hoist the flag at half mast Monday, a foreign ministry’s official source said.
Meanwhile, Expatriates’ Welfare and Overseas Employment Minister Imran Ahmad will visit Oman for signing the condolence book on behalf of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina. He will join there from Abu Dhabi.
Sultan Qaboos, the longest-reigning leader of the modern Arab world, died at the age of 79 on Friday.
