Bangladesh Metrology Department (BMD) forecast cold waves to sweep through the country on Jan 2, 3, 4 in addition to light rain or drizzle.
Current temperature is gradually increasing and cold waves are likely to be milder within two days, Meteorologist Monwar Hossain told Bangla Tribune.
Light rain or drizzle may hit from Jan 2 onwards, which will cause cold waves across the country, he added.
On Monday (Dec 30), the lowest temperature in the country 5 degree Celsius was recorded at Pannchaganr's Tentulia but in Dhaka, the mercury did not drop below 13.1 degree Celsius.
