Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina on Saturday (Dec 28) inaugurated two Dreamliner ‘Sonar Tari’ and ‘Achin Pakhi’ of Biman Bangladesh Airlines at Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport (HSIA) in Dhaka.

The first Dreamliner ‘Sonar Tori’ reached Dhaka from Seattle, the USA on December 21 while brand new Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner “Achin Pakhi” of Biman Bangladesh Airlines’s reached Dhaka on December 24.

The premier also inaugurated the construction work of the ‘Third Terminal’ of Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport (HSIA) to significantly increase passenger and cargo capacity.

The government will provide Tk 50 billion of the construction cost and the rest will be funded by the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA), reports BSS.

Mitsubishi and Fujita of Japan and Samsung of Korea were awarded to construct the terminal under a consortium.
