The Post and Telecommunication Department has taken special initiatives to celebrate Mujib year. As per the proposed work plan, telecommunication department will observe Mujib year from the first day of 2020 running till Dec 16.
The year-long arrangement will include: broadcasting excerpts of Bangabandhu’s historic speech on Jan 1 through voice record in mobile phones. In addition, special stamps carrying speech of Bangabandhu will also be unveiled.
An album containing all stamps of Bangabandhu will be published.
Post and telecommunication minister, Mustafa Jabbar, said: “We will have round the year programme with Bangabandhu; whatever we do, Bangabandhu will be remembered.”
In addition to state events, we have arranged special events from the department of post and telecommunications, he added.
At one minute past midnight on Jan 1, special parts of Bangabandhu’s speech will be aired through mobile voice record.
On the same day, a special voice and data package ‘Mehenoti Manusher Bondhu’ will be distributed. To be operated by Teletalk, the cost of this will be Tk 300 million.
On the same day, preparations will be made for illustrated e-book on Bangabandhu’s life and Doyel laptops will be assembled free of cost.
On Mar 7, the talking stamp will be unveiled and the possible cost will be Tk 500 million. On Mar 17, on the hundred year of Bangabandhu’s birthday, a commemorative stamp will be launched and the proposed cost will be Tk 20 million.
On the same day, greetings will be sent via post cards which will contain PM’s message and signatures. This will be sent to 40 million families and the possible cost will be Tk 600 million.
The independence message sent by Bangabandhu on 26 March will be inscribed on stone and placed on the BTCL office on Mar 26 March with a cost of Tk 300 million.
On Apr 14, grand rallies will be organized in Dhaka and district towns with the participation of mobile operators.
Other programmes include: cultural programmes with indigenous tribes, stamp exhibition, opening of Bangabandhu Postal Museum in Khulna, Sculpture of Bangabandhu in Khulna etc.
