Information Minister Dr Hasan Mahmud said that publishing a report in Dainik Sangram which called Razakar and war criminal Abdul Quader Molla a martyr is tantamount to malicious audacity towards the nation.
Such misrepresentation of facts pours contempt and ignominy on the sacrifices made by millions who gave their lives to liberate this country, said the minister.
The minister made the remarks after laying a wreath at the image of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman at Dhanmondi 32 on Monday (Dec 16).
The information minister said that steps are being taken against the Daily Sangram for calling a war criminal a martyr.
A notice has been served to the paper from the district administration and the Department for Film and Publication, DFP, asking why its declaration should not be cancelled.
At this time, Dr Hasan made a firm pledge not to give any concession to anti state elements.
“There is no relief for anti-liberation forces in a country which was liberated under the leadership of the Father of the Nation Bangabandhu and is currently led by his daughter.”
Those who do not believe in the sovereignty of the nation have no right to be in politics, stated the minister.
