Law Minister Anisul HuqLaw, Justice and Parliamentary Affairs Minister Anisul Huq said: “The investigation agency of International Crimes Tribunal (ICT) will scrutinize the list of Razakars that the government published today, and will decide on taking action on the basis of the gravity of their crimes.”

The minister made the statement on Sunday (Dec 15) while speaking to journalists after his meeting with Nepalese Deputy Prime Minister Upendra Yadav and Joint Secretary Gautam Phanindra at his office in the capital, reports BSS.

He said: “After conducting their probe, they (the investigation agency of ICT) will decide whom to take action against and whom to bring to justice under ICT. If they find evidence against anyone then that person will certainly be brought to justice.”

When asked for his reaction on the publication of the list of 10,789 razakars (those who collaborated with the Pakistanis during the War of Liberation in 1971) by the Liberation War Ministry, Anisul said that clarifying all information pertaining to the history of our country is good for everyone.

The young generation should learn the true history of the country. In the past, there was a time when we had to feel hesitant when talking about how we gained our independence and about the Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, who brought about our liberation. This list of razakars and the true history of our Liberation War will help the new generation create a beautiful, strong, and developed Bangladesh,” he added.
