Momen receives Jaishankar at Dhaka on Monday (Aug 19), 2019.India is not pushing anybody into Bangladesh but some people are coming with the help of people-smugglers with an impression that one can have free food here, says Foreign Minister AK Abdul Momen.

He made the remarks on Sunday (Dec 15) while speaking to the media at his offices, reports UNB.

Dhaka has requested Delhi to give the list of any illegal Bangladeshis, if any, living in India, Momen said before adding there's a standard procedure to follow in that case.

The government will send back anyone other than Bangladeshi citizens, who enter the country through the land borders without following the due process, said the foreign minister.

Responding to a query about National Register of Citizenship (NRC), he said Delhi has made it clear that it's their internal matter and assured that it will in no way affect Bangladesh.

"Bangladesh-India relations are normal. The relations won't be affected ... the relations are very sweet," the news agency quoted Momen saying.
