ECNEC okays six projects worth Tk 73b

The Executive Committee of the National Economic Council (ECNEC) has approved six development projects with an outlay of Tk 73.12 billion.
The approval came at the meeting of the ECNEC held at the NEC Conference Room in Dhaka's Sher-E-Bangla Nagar on Tuesday (Nov 26) with its Chairperson and Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina in the chair.
Planning Minister M A Mannan briefed the media after the meeting.
Mannan said, “The total cost of Tk 73.12 billion, the government would provide Tk 27.78 billion from the national exchequer while the organizations concerned would contribute Tk 3.21 billion and the remaining Tk 42.12 billion would come as project assistance.”
Four projects of road transport and bridges ministry, one of housing and public works ministry and another one of power, energy and mineral resources ministry have been approved by the committee.
The projects are upgrading Monihar-Murali part of Palbari-Dartana-Monihar-Murali National Highway into four-lane, Up-gradation of Bogura-Sariakandi District Highway and Construction of Ariarghat Bridge on Bangali River, Expansion and Up-gradation of Magura-Narail Regional Road, Expansion and Up-gradation of Feni-Alokdia-Valukia-Laskarhat-Chhagolnaiya District Road, Construction of Connecting Road from Natore road to Rajshahi bypass and Dhaka and Western Power Grid Transmission System Project.
