“The list of the Razakars will be published officially on Dec 16, this year during the celebration of the Victory Day of the country,” Liberation War Affairs Minister AKM Mozammel Huq said this while addressing a views-exchange meeting with the Dhaka division freedom fighters at Banga Taj auditorium in Gazipur on Friday (Nov 8).
Besides, the identity card will be distributed among the freedom fighters in January, next year, said the minister, adding that the ‘facilities and services’ which would be entitled for the freedom fighters also would be inscribed to the back side of the card, reports BSS.
In addition to this, the project works titled ‘building freedom fighters graves in same design,’ will tentatively begin from January, Huq told the function.
Chaired by Gazipur City Corporation Mayor Mohammad Jahangir Alam, the meeting also was addressed by Awami League Liberation Affairs Sub-committee Chairman M Rashidul Alam as the chief guest.
The write ups on the role of the freedom fighters and the Razakars will be included in the education curriculum and syllabus of the Bangladesh Civil Service (BCS).

About the resentment of freedom fighters’ allowances, the liberation war affairs minister said, “the freedom fighters’ allowance would be revised in 2020 when the birth centenary of Father of the Nation will be celebrated.”

Gazipur city Awami League President Azmat Ullah Khan moderated the function while former MP of Gazipur-2 Quazi Mozammel Huq, Gazipur District Council Chairman and former MP M Akhtaruzzaman, Dhaka District Awami League President Benjir Ahmed MP, lawmaker of Gazipur-3 M Iqbal Hossen Sabuj and freedom fighters Abdul Huq and Anwar Hossain, among others, spoke on the occasion.
