The 100-day countdown to the grand celebrations of the birth centenary of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman will begin on Dec 8.
Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina will inaugurate the countdown across Bangladesh ahead of the year-long celebrations that will open at historic Suhrawardy Udyan in Dhaka on Mar 17, 2020.
This was informed at a preparatory meeting on the celebrations of the birth centenary of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman on Thursday evening.
Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, president of the National Committee for the Celebration of the Birth Centenary of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, presided over the meeting held at her official residence Ganabhaban, reports UNB.
The meeting discussed countrywide programs to be drawn up on the occasion of the birth centenary of the Father of the Nation.
At the outset of the meeting, Chief Coordinator of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman Birth Centenary Celebration National Implementation Committee Dr Kamal Abdul Naser Chowdhury highlighted various aspects of the birth centenary programs through a video presentation.
PM's Press Secretary Ihsanul Karim said the prime minister witnessed the presentation and gave various directives in this regard.
