The government will not allow any cattle market on highways, residential areas and rail tracks across the country ahead of Eid-ul-Adha, says Home Minister Asaduzzaman Khan Kamal.
“A maximum of 29 cattle markets will be allowed in the capital,” he said on Sunday (Jul 22).
Speaking to media after a meeting with law enforcement officials at his office, the minister said, “Eid-ul-Adha will be celebrated on Aug 22 depending on moon sighting.”
“Outposts of police and Rapid Action Battalion will be set up at each cattle market, which will remain under CCTV surveillance. Traders will be provided security for the cash they will be carrying.”
