Dhaka assures EU of Rohingyas' voluntary relocation to Bhashan char

The issue was discussed at the Bangladesh-European Union Joint Commission held in Dhaka Monday (Oct 21).
Foreign Minister AK Abdul Momen in September at an interview said "If they are not willing, we will force them."
A joint press release issued after the meeting said Both sides expressed commitment to pursue the accountability mechanisms for the crimes committed against the Rohingyas in Myanmar through various multilateral initiatives.
“The EU recalled its political and financial support to the Government and the people of Bangladesh in facing the crisis,” the press release said.
The Joint Commission was co-chaired by Md Ashadul Islam, Senior Secretary, Financial Institutions Division, and Paola Pampaloni, Deputy Managing Director of the External Action Service of the European Union.
