Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has said that the ongoing crackdown on graft and casinos will continue and those involved will not be spared.

Her remarks came on Wednesday (Oct 2) while inaugurating the commercial transmission of all local private television channels using the feed of country’s first communication satellite Bangabandhu-I (BS-I).

“The crackdown will continue regardless of who the perpetrators are, be it family, relatives or party members,” she said.

On the commercial transmissions through BS-I she said, “I hope other obstacles in electric transmission mediums will be overcome soon and we won’t have to depend on anyone.”

She said that other countries have been offered to rent the transponder which will generate income for the Bangladesh.

The premier called on the media to publicise the government’s positive works during the last ten years and to refrain from spreading news that may create confusion amongst people.
