The rains may occur at the different places of the country, says metrologist Kalam Mollik of Bangladesh Metrology Department (BMD).
The axis of monsoon trough runs through India's Bihar, West Bengal to Assam across the central part of Bangladesh and one of its associated troughs extends up to Northeast Bay, a BMD bulletin said on Sunday (Sept 29).
Light to moderate rain or thundershowers accompanied by temporary gusty wind is likely to occur at most places over Khulna, Rajshahi and Rangpur divisions; at many places over Dhaka and Mymensingh divisions and at a few places over Barishal, Chattogram and Sylhet divisions with moderately heavy to heavy falls at places over the country in the next 24 hours ending on 6pm on Monday (Sept 30).
Day and night temperature may fall slightly over the country, it added.
Meanwhile, river ports have been advised to hoist warning signal no. 2 as rain or thundershowers temporary south or south-easterly, squalls speed 60-80 kph is likely to occur over the Regions Of Cumilla, Dhaka, Faridpur, Rajshahi, Rangpur, Pabna, Bogura, Tangail, Mymensingh, Jashore, Kushtia, Khulna, Barishal, Patuakhali, Noakhali And Sylhet, said another Met Office bulletin.
While river ports in elsewhere have been advised to hoist cautionary signal no. 1, it added.
