Moghbazar-Mouchak Flyover has become a death trap due to absence of adequate lighting; also, there is dumped garbage and after rainfall, waterlogging is a problem.

As a result, accidents are common on the flyover along with crimes and murders. DSCC has reportedly taken a Tk 420 million project to place signals and markings at the flyover. The 8.25km long flyover was opened on Oct 26, 2017.
The flyover was handed over to the city corporation in March this year and prior to this, several defects were detected although they haven’t been solved as yet.
In addition to darkness and garbage, on Aug 26, a motorbike ride sharing rider was killed by miscreants on the flyover.
FThe DSCC has already sent the project to the local government department. DSCC engineer Asaduzzaman, says: “In addition to placing LED signals and lights, a project has been taken to beautify the flyover; the project is at the planning ministry and will get approval soon.”
The three layer flyover is 8.7km long and resistant to earthquake up to 10 at the Richter scale and was constructed at a cost of above Tk 12.18 billion.
