The power supply was disrupted at 1:35pm on Tuesday (Sept 24) following the glitch in the main power line of Dhaka Electric Supply Company (DESCO), said Group Captain Abu Sayeed Mehboob Khan, director (operations) of the airport.
The entire airport went dark for about four minutes following the disruption, according to the airport sources.
Director Khan said, "power has been restored using alternative lines.
Airport operation is being a bit disrupted, he added.
The DESCO authorities, however, said there were no glitch from their ends.
"We supply power to the nearby sub-station, then the airport authorities take over the maintenance," DESCO Managing Director Shahid Sarwar told Bangla Tribune.
Internal problem might cause the power failure, he said.
Power failure at Dhaka airport is not new with the last incident being reported on Sept 3.
