Deputy Speaker Fazle Rabbi Miah has slammed a report by Transparency International Bangladesh (TIB) on the Parliament saying that they “parrot whatever the foreigners teach them.”
His remarks came during a program at the Parliament’s IPD conference on Monday (Sept 9).
The deputy speaker was referring to the anti graft dog’s Aug 28 report ‘Parliament Watch’ that said that a total of 198 hours and 30 minutes worth Tk 1.6 billion were wasted during the 10th Parliament.
It also said that only 12 percent of the total time of the 23 sessions was allocated to bill discussions.
The deputy speaker said that they pass the bills with the people’s money and the expenses don’t come from a charity.
