Speaker Dr Shirin Sharmin Chaudhury has said former Awami League (AL) Women Affairs Secretary late Ivy Rahman would remain as an iconic figure to the women forever as she worked for their right, freedom and welfare.
“In the past, the path for entering into politics was not smooth for women … However, Ivy Rahman came to politics facing hard times and always worked to uplift women in politics. She did many constructive works so that they could move forward by establishing themselves,” Chaudhury told a discussion in Dhaka on Saturday (Aug 24).
The speaker recalled that Ivy Rahman had efficiently organized the Awami League leaders and workers through her pragmatic leadership when she was alive.
